A few things about Helen

Created by Jan 13 years ago
Helen was born in Winston Salem, NC to Janette and Charles Apostle. Most of Helen's life was spent between Greensboro, NC, New Market, VA, Harrington Park, NJ and West Chester, PA. Helen married Edward M. Brown, Jr. of Endless Caverns, New Market, VA at the age of 16. Edward was in the Army during WWII in 1942. Helen and Edward had two daughters, Janette and Esther. Edward passed away in February of 1990. Helen was a homemaker and at one time, Manager of the Joshua Tree in Wayne, PA. She started there as a baker and in a short time was running the whole place. She had many talents: accomplished pianist, painter, master gardener; fantastic and creative cook; created crossword puzzles and entered them in national level competitions. She was a talented painter, quilter, knitter and a fine seamstress, who at one time created and sewed all of her fine suits, coats and dresses. She loved cats (please see favorites Buddy and Jamie on home page), cooking, listening to opera and baseball (especially the World Series). Helen's friends would describe her as a very talented and creative person who was very involved in the lives of her daughters and grandchildren, Justin and Angela.
